Instructors will guide participants through the process of shaping this beautiful, natural material into a figurine to take home. Participation is $30 per person; the necessary tools will be provided.
The 36th annual Best of the Northwest Spring show, held in the historic Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park in Seattle. The 2-day show offers handmade art in all mediums by over 100 talented artists. See a wide variety of handcrafted artwork at Seattle’s premier art and fine craft show. This is a great event to meet the artists and find unique gifts for someone special or the perfect piece for you and your home.
Have some fun experiencing “Artists in Action” as they create art at their booths. The Northwest Stone Sculptors Association will be featured in a special exhibit. You can meet the EAP winners. Enjoy a coffee drink, a meal or snack from Seattle food trucks. Free parking available.
Space is limited, Registration is required.
There are two workshops (one beginning at 10:30am, the other at 1:30pm), with a limit of 14 youth in each workshop. Participants will be working with soapstone and water and soapstone dust will get on participants clothing, so dress appropriately.

* Please arrive early to sign-in-opens 30 minutes before workshop.
* Parent or adult must accompany child to registration in order to sign permission slip and waiver for photography.
* Adults bringing children ages 12 and under are encouraged to stay with them during the workshop.
* Bring your own drinking water and snack if needed.
* This activity will take place outdoors, so dress for the weather. (Rain jacket or sunscreen!)
This event will be a wonderful opportunity to combine handiwork, mental focus and three-dimensional thinking. The event is open to the public for viewing.
