The Port Townsend Arts Commission and Northwind Arts Center are seeking submissions for “Expressions Northwest”, the Twentieth Annual Art Port Townsend Juried Art Competition which takes place from August 2 – August 26, 2018 at the Northwind Arts Center in Port Townsend, WA. Artists must be 16 years of age or older and a resident of either WA, OR, ID, MT, AK or British Columbia. Work in both two- and three- dimensions, including jewelry and photography is eligible. Cash prizes will be presented.
The juror for this show, Margaret Bullock, is the Curator of Collections and Special exhibitions at Tacoma Art Museum, Washington. Margaret has a BA in Art History and English Literature from the University of Colorado, an MA in Anthropology from Washington State University, and an MA in Art History from the University of Oregon.
Prior to joining the Tacoma Art Museum in 2007, she was curator at the Harwood Museum of Art in Taos, New Mexico, Associate Curator of American Art at the Portland Art Museum, Oregon and a research fellow the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Alabama. From 2009 to 2015 she also served as gallery manager and curator of the Kittredge Gallery, University of Puget Sound. She has curated exhibitions and written articles and books on American and European fine and decorative arts. Her specialty is late 19th and 20th century American art with a particular focus on the art of the Pacific Northwest.
