NWSSA Mission & Vision

OUR MISSION

NWSSA is a non-profit membership organization serving as a resource for the carving and presentation of stone sculpture.  It develops education opportunities, provides a support system, and facilitates interaction with regional, national and international communities.

VISION + PURPOSE

As an educational and professional resource, the organization can provide its membership numerous benefits:

  • Design development workshops
  • Technique workshops
  • Master Sculptor workshops and training
  • Guest artist lectures and presentations
  • Geology and stone knowledge seminars
  • Tool use and resource workshops and lectures
  • Safety education lectures and workshops
  • Professional service lectures including accounting and legal issues
  • Library of resource books and video tapes
  • Newsletter
  • Artist network access (regional, national, international)
  • Symposia at numerous regional, national and international locations.
  • Stone and other material resource and access information

We benefit the local, national and international community in numerous ways.

  1. Providing sculptural art resources to public and private interests by displaying sculpture in public, commercial, & private environments
  2. Providing educational resources to the public through sculpture development workshops, classes, demonstrations, lectures & seminars on sculpture development, individual artists and their work, art and cultural history, international guest artists and placement of sculpture in the environment
  3. Providing public access to regional, national and international symposia on stone sculpture
  4. Providing sculpture and art education resource to public and private educational institutions
  5. Facilitating cultural exchange through sculptural art by providing invitational lectures, workshops, seminars and symposia to open opportunities to artists of diverse nationalities and cultures and by providing opportunities for local artists to attend symposia and seminars in diverse national and cultural environments.
