30 YEARS AGO – a brief history in pictures of NWSSA in 1992.

1992 was a very busy year for our young organization! We enlarged the Board of Directors from 5 to 8 members: Vic Picou-Pres., Rich Hestekind – VP, Carol Way – Sec., Meredith Earls-Treas., plus Michael Link, Kenton Pies, Jim White, and Everett DuPen-Director Emeritus.

The 5th NWSSA International Stone Sculptors Symposium was held at Camp Brotherhood, Arlington WA. Guest artists and instructors were: Everett DuPen, Myrna Orsini, Vasily Federouk (Ukraine), Dr. Hon Le, George Pratt (Canada), Bruce Morrison, Carol Way, Janet Brown, Molly Giest, Nick Lyle and Signature Theship.

And to top off a great year we created 7 events for members to show their work, and to act as outreach to the general public:
Northwest Flower and Garden Show, Seattle Convention Center WA
The Sweetbriar Nursery Show, Kirkland WA
The Gallery, Olympia WA
Seattle Design Center, Seattle WA
Gallery Mack, Seattle WA
Sunflower Garden Center, Shoreline WA

Whew, how did we find time to carve?
