CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the Board of Directors of the ORGANIZATION was duly called on Saturday, October 10, 2020 @ 2PM.
Ben Mefford, President, called the meeting to order.

-Approval of August meeting minutes.

The following items were discussed:
Communications:
Action: Follow up on promotion regarding use of Forum and January Symposium

Virtual Symposium/and Forum: Will review and reassess use of Forum in next meeting.

Winter-Virtual Symposium:
Action: Planned for January 14-16, 2020
Suggested there include a social justice theme.
Rick will make contact with speaker that reflects social justice in their art.

Name of Symposium- past and present-
Action: Discussion of possible options for Symposium name change to continue through email and put to a vote at future meeting.

Nwssa Swag for fundraising:
Action: Carl Nelson is donating 24 NWSSA T-shirts to be sold on the website and proceeds will go to NWSSA general fund.

Equity, Inclusion and Diversity outreach-
Action: Discussion about ways to increase participation of underrepresented communities for both scholarship and education re: stone carving.

Independent Contractors –
Action Item: Discussed office work load and possible ways to reduce it.

Follow up for next meeting:
Plan: Minutes, Symposium name change
Actions: Discussion of taxes will be added to next meeting agenda.
