When I first heard about a logo contest I have to admit I tried to hide under the nearest stone I could find. Finding a group consensus for something as subjective as a logo sounded like a tall order. But when I was asked to help out I found myself blurting out, “sure, no problem.” It turned out to be a fun project and I was impressed with the positive DIY spirit of the association. The logo was a group effort that I was honored to be a part of.
Aerin Sizelove did a great job keeping the project organized and moving forward. What started out as contest morphed into a collaboration of ideas. This proved to be a great way to begin the brainstorming process and get people involved. Erin Tomb and I divided the task of sorting through the drafts to develop and refine some options. Many were an attempt to blend the best parts of everyone’s thoughts together. Eventually, we narrowed it down to a handful of logos to choose from. It was a tough decision to pick one and I’m thankful for everyone who put energy in to the process.
