“Illuminations” Exhibit, City of Sequim

City of Sequim: The City Arts Advisory Commission (CAAC) is seeking entries of art, in any medium, for the next exhibit to be displayed in the lobby of the Civic Center, located at 152 W. Cedar Street beginning January 3, 2020.

The theme for this exhibit is “Illuminations”. Without illumination, there is no color and little form; therefore, the artists’ first teacher is always light. This theme is a celebration of how light is portrayed in painting, used as a shadow element dancing over sculptures, and projected through colored glass or from neon or LED works. As long as the artwork somehow “highlights” light, then it fits the theme.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, December 9, 2019 at 4pm.

All entries will be juried by the CAAC on December 12, 2019 and artists will be notified of their status on December 13, 2019.

An Artist’s Reception will take place on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 5pm to 8pm, and the exhibit will be on display until March 27, 2020.
