Gallery Without Walls 2025–2027 Rotating Exhibition
On behalf of the City of Lake Oswego, the Arts Council of Lake Oswego (ACLO) is pleased to invite artist submissions of up to three works of art per artist to be considered for outdoor public display in Lake Oswego’s nationally recognized outdoor Gallery Without Walls rotating collection. In its twenty-fifth year, this program’s mission is to integrate art into the daily lives of residents and visitors.
Artists can submit completed works and ideas for new work to be completed by August 2025 for installation. Accepted artwork will be displayed throughout the downtown business district for a two-year exhibition period from summer 2025 to summer 2027.
Submissions will be evaluated by a selection committee based on the overall quality and merit of the submitted artworks. We are committed to diversity and strongly encourage submissions from artists identifying with under-represented communities. We seek works of various media, including sculpture and murals, and encourage innovative submissions. Submissions of artwork created within the last three years are preferred.
Up to fifteen artists, with one artwork each will be chosen by the selection committee to display in Lake Oswego.
Deadline to apply: December 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
Selected artists receive an honorarium of $1500.
Selected artists will enter into a two-year contract with the City of Lake Oswego for the exhibition loan period. During the exhibition, works will be available for sale with a 30% gallery fee, if sold, paid to the Arts Council. Purchased artworks must remain on display for the contracted exhibition period.
Accepted artwork is eligible for an annual People’s Choice purchase award of up to $20,000 (with a 30% gallery fee to ACLO). Eligibility for People’s Choice is evaluated annually by a selection committee and conservator. Up to 5 pieces will be chosen for the public to vote on.
Artists are invited to the annual Gallery Without Walls Celebration in September, a community event premiering new sculptures and recognizing artists and supporters.
