Minutes of NWSSA BOD Meeting 7-12-2023

CALL TO ORDER

A meeting of the Board of Directors of the ORGANIZATION was duly called on 7/12/2023, at 9:00p.m. PST.  Ellie Hochman (President) called the meeting to order.

Minutes Approval

A motion was made to approve the previous month’s meeting minutes. The motion was seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

Officers Election

Secretary:

Jeremy Kester was nominated. The nomination was seconded. The nomination passed unanimously.

Treasurer:

Cyra Jane Hobson was nominated. The nomination was seconded. The nomination passed unanimously.

(W/ caveat that we look to replace her asap)

VP:

Markos Weiss was nominated. The nomination was seconded. The nomination passed unanimously.

President:

Ellie Hochman was nominated. The nomination was seconded. The nomination passed unanimously.

Old Business

Endowment: Tamara Buchanan

Advisory vote discussion: Advisory vote indicates moving forward with endowment exploration. Presentation to be made online when the proposal is solidified. We need to publish the document digitally to the membership. Have an open forum via zoom to be presented by Tamara and Stephen.

Motion was made to publish the endowment document with explanation to the membership. The nomination was seconded. The nomination passed unanimously. 

Fall Retreat: Update on location and date. To be done by email.

Web Development: Carl Nelson and Leah Davidson

New Business

California Proposal:

CSS : Proposal to Explore Merging with NWSSA 2023

What is our growth philosophy? 

What other models are there that preserve community?

Do we have the time as the NWSSA board to take this on? 

Discuss further and return and decide on exploration phase by the end of fall retreat.
